Why we started
Booking sites will tell you a hotel “has a pool”. They rarely tell you when children are allowed in it. At many UK hotels the pool is part of a leisure club, and under-16s can only swim at set times, sometimes just a couple of hours a day. Parents find out at check-in, or ask on forums and get answers that are years out of date.
Family Pool Hotels puts those details on one page per hotel, so you can compare properly and book with fewer surprises.
What we cover
- Children’s swim times: when kids can use the pool, and the age and supervision rules.
- The pool itself: length, kids’ pools and slides, hot tubs and saunas, opening hours and whether guests pay extra.
- Rooms and practicalities: family rooms, breakfast and kids-eat-free deals, parking.
- Drive times: estimates from nearby cities, so you can plan a weekend away that works.
We cover London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Bristol and Bath, and Cardiff, plus every UK hotel and resort with a water park we could verify. More cities are on the way.
How we work
Every fact comes from a source we can point to: the hotel’s own website, its leisure club pages and timetables, its brand page or a major booking site. Each hotel page lists those sources. If we can’t find a detail in any of those places, we say “Not published” rather than guess. You can read more in how we collect our data.
Independent
We’re not owned by a hotel group or booking site, and hotels can’t pay to be listed or to rank higher. Lists are ordered by the facts, such as when children can swim and what the pool offers them. See how we make money.
